Mountain View House - Western Newfoundland personal care home for seniors in Meadows, Bay of Islands. Mountain View House is a licenced Level 1 – 2 Personal Care Home. All staff members are certified for Emegency First Aid and CPR by St. John Ambulance. Mountain View House is a combination of 41 private and semi-private suites with complete 3 piece bathrooms and with the renovation and expansion recently completed in 2008 have 8 suites which are completely wheelchair accessible.

Mountain View House amenities are many and varied. Rooms include spacious private and semi private suites - over 300 square feet complete with three piece bathroom. Suite design allows maximum natural light through the oversized windows allowing for maximum daily sunlight on the beautiful southern exposure. All rooms are equipped with cable television, telephone and internet service. Just outside your suite if you wish to relax and meet with your neighbours, family or friends do so in one of the five fully furnished sky light lit atriums throughout the building. If the company of more people is what you desire use our main lounge which boasts of an area over 2200 square feet. The 23 foot high cathedral ceiling accented with a glass wall overlooking the bay and the mountains is a view worth seeing. Enjoy home cooked meals prepared daily in our kitchen and served in our main dining room. We pride ourselves in giving our residents the attention to their personal needs thus tea and coffee time between meals are ongoing throughout the day in our tearoom. If you have special dietary requirements we take care of that for you also.

In home blood collection as required for medical reasons
24 hour emergency and security staff
Full service prepared home cooked meals 3 times a day served in our common dining room or if needed served in your suite
Special dietary needs are accommodated. A registered dietician is on call for consultation
A registered nurse liaison visits monthly to assess residents’ needs and levels of care
Social workers employed with the provincial department of health are on call for consultation
Snacks, tea and coffee are ongoing between meals and before bed time
Scheduling of medical appointments complete with, transportation to and from doctors appointments with a staff member accompanying the resident
Entertainment and recreational therapy provided
A self contained well ventilated SMOKE ROOM is provided for those who smoke. All non – smoker wishes are respected
Resident birthday parties are celebrated
On site special occasion events are celebrated
Bingo, board games, cards and movie nights
Free weekly transportation as required for resident shopping, banking and away from home visiting
Monthly visits by volunteers to provide music and entertainment
In house seniors committee acting as a voice for any concerns the residents may have with respect to the overall operation of Mountain View House. Assisting with ideas and discussions of what they as residents would like to have to enhance their living at MountainView House

In house religious worship as volunteered. All faiths are welcomed.
